PROGRAM REVIEW
Farm Program Review questions.
A Farm Program Review is the process we use to understand your crop, soil condition, current inputs, application method and commercial objective before recommending a Happy Soils pathway. It helps make sure the program is practical, relevant and suited to your farming system.
We usually review crop type, soil condition, current fertiliser and chemical inputs, water availability, application equipment, paddock history, timing and commercial objectives. Soil tests, photos and current input programs are useful where available.
A soil test is strongly recommended, especially for commercial farms, broadacre programs, horticulture, pasture recovery, hemp and remediation projects. If a soil test is not available, we can still discuss the program, but recommendations may be more general until more information is provided.
Yes. Happy Soils can work alongside your agronomist or farm adviser. The goal is not to replace existing advice, but to help align biological soil products with your current program, crop goals and application timing.
PRODUCT USE
Product questions.
Activate Carbon is used to support soil function, carbon flow, microbial activity, nutrient cycling and root-zone performance. It is generally positioned as the base soil-conditioning product within the Happy Soils program.
Energise is used to support plant response, nutrient availability and crop performance during key growth stages. It is commonly used where the crop needs support through establishment, vegetative growth or seasonal pressure.
Heal n’ Shield supports beneficial biology and root-zone activity. Depending on the product format and crop system, it may be used to support establishment, soil biology and early root-zone development.
Not always. Product selection depends on the crop, soil condition, timing, equipment, current inputs and program objective. Some farms may start with Activate Carbon only. Others may need a broader biological pathway.
Application
Application and timing questions.
Depending on the product and farming system, Happy Soils products may be applied through boom spray, fertigation, irrigation systems, spreaders, small-volume sprayers or other suitable application equipment. Application method should be confirmed before use.
Timing depends on the crop and objective. Programs may include pre-plant or sowing support, early growth applications, mid-season applications or post-harvest recovery. Timing should be confirmed through a Farm Program Review.
Yes. Liquid products are generally mixed with water for application. Water rate and mixing approach depend on the product, equipment, crop and application method.
In some systems, liquid products may be suitable for fertigation or irrigation application. This should be confirmed based on the product, equipment, filtration, water quality and crop system.
COMPATIBILITY
Compatibility and current-input questions.
Often, yes. Happy Soils programs are commonly introduced alongside existing farm programs. The aim is to support soil function and nutrient efficiency while avoiding unnecessary duplication or poorly timed applications.
Compatibility depends on the product, chemical, timing and application method. Some chemicals may affect biological products, so tank-mixing and application timing should be checked before use.
Input reduction should be managed carefully. Some farms may transition gradually, while others may adjust programs more quickly based on soil condition, crop type and agronomy advice. Any reduction should be planned, not guessed.
Yes, provided the contractor has the correct application instructions, water rate, timing and product handling guidance. We can provide program notes to support contractors and farm managers.
RESULTS
Results and expectation questions.
Response time varies by crop, soil condition, season, moisture, current inputs and management. Some growers may see early crop response, while soil structure and biological function generally require longer-term monitoring.
No. Farm results vary by soil, crop, season, water availability, application timing and management. Happy Soils programs are designed to support soil function and crop performance, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Useful indicators include crop establishment, root development, plant colour, vigour, soil moisture movement, groundcover, yield response, input use and any changes in soil test results over time.
Happy Soils may support poor-performing paddocks where soil function, structure, biological activity, nutrient cycling or root-zone conditions are limiting performance. A review is recommended before applying a recovery program.
STORAGE & HANDLING
Storage and handling questions.
Products should be stored in a cool, dry, covered and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials. Keep containers closed when not in use and check labels or safety information for product-specific requirements.
Product classification depends on the specific product. Safety data sheets should be reviewed before handling, storage or application. Use appropriate personal protective equipment where required.
Use standard safe handling practices. Avoid skin and eye contact and follow the label or safety data sheet for the product being used. Commercial and industrial applications may require additional protective equipment.
